My path into design wasn’t linear, but every step taught me how to create more thoughtful experiences for people.

I didn’t start my career knowing I would become a designer, at least not in the way I understand it today. But when I look back, the path makes perfect sense.I was born and raised in Iran, where I grew up surrounded by creativity, curiosity, and a deep love for art. Even before I knew what UX was, I was always drawn to the way people experience things, how something feels, how it flows, and how thoughtful details can shape a moment. I’ve always been someone who notices the little things and wants to make them better.
After earning my bachelor’s degree in Design Management in Tehran, I began my career in the travel industry. I worked in UX and marketing for a travel agency, where I planned personalized trips to Europe and the U.S. based on each traveler’s needs, goals, and budget. I also contributed to the website experience, which became one of my earliest connections to digital design.
At the same time, I worked as a tour guide and planner, creating thoughtful travel experiences from start to finish. Looking back, I realize I was already doing what drew me to UX: understanding people, anticipating needs, organizing complexity, and designing journeys that felt smooth, intentional, and memorable.
Later, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life and moved to the United States on my own.
Leaving behind my home, my family, and everything familiar wasn’t easy, but it shaped me in ways I’m deeply proud of. Starting over in a new country taught me resilience, independence, and how to adapt quickly. It also gave me a deeper sense of empathy, because when you’re building a new life from scratch, every experience, system, and interaction feels personal. In the U.S., I worked at Macy’s, where I collaborated with the merchandising team to shape in-store experiences, visualize floor layouts, and observe how people move through physical spaces. That role strengthened my eye for visual storytelling, customer behavior, and the way design can influence decisions in everyday moments.
Then COVID changed everything. Like it did for so many people, it gave me a moment to pause and ask myself what I truly wanted. And for me, the answer was clear: I wanted to fully commit to the path I had already been growing toward. I completed my UX/UI design certification, began freelancing, and started building my career in design with more intention. What started as curiosity became clarity. I finally had the language for something I had been doing all along: solving problems through thoughtful, human-centered design.
Since then, my path has naturally evolved from UX into product design. Today, I design digital experiences that balance empathy, strategy, and systems thinking, creating products that feel intuitive, useful, and genuinely helpful for the people using them.
Outside of work, I’m still inspired by the same things that shaped me from the beginning: travel, art, making things by hand, and creating experiences for people I care about. I love camping, pottery, resin art, music, DIY projects, and designing little details for trips, gatherings, and celebrations with friends. For me, creativity has never been separate from life, it’s just part of how I move through the world.
I’m also deeply shaped by the women who raised me, my mother and older sister, who taught me to dream big, stand up for myself, and be independent. Their strength helped shape the person I am today, and that strength lives in the way I work, create, and keep growing.
